One year, multiple entries, 90 days: what the eVisa allows

What the Saudi Arabia tourist eVisa allows: valid one year from issue, multiple entries, stays of up to 90 days, for tourism, events, family visits and Umrah. What it does not cover, and how the dates work.

The short answer. The Saudi tourist eVisa is valid for one year from the date it is issued. You can enter as many times as you like during that year, and each stay can last up to 90 days. It covers tourism, leisure, events, visiting family or friends, and Umrah outside the Hajj season. It does not cover work, study or Hajj.

The three numbers

Validity One year From the date of issue, not from your arrival
Entries Multiple Come and go during the year
Maximum stay 90 days Per stay in Saudi Arabia

The eVisa is issued electronically and linked to your passport. There is nothing to collect from an embassy. You receive it by email, and you carry a copy with your passport when you travel.

What you can do on it

  • Tourism and leisure: Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, the Red Sea coast, the mountains of the south.
  • Attending events, from concerts and sport to Riyadh Season.
  • Visiting family or friends.
  • Umrah, outside the Hajj season. Our Umrah guide explains the dates.

What you cannot do on it

  • Work for a Saudi employer.
  • Study at a Saudi school or university.
  • Hajj. Hajj always requires a Hajj visa, and the tourist eVisa is not one.

Those need other visa types, which we do not provide.

How the dates work

An example. Your eVisa is issued on 15 November 2026. It is valid until 15 November 2027. You visit Jeddah for three weeks in December 2026, go home, and come back for Umrah in March 2027 and for a week in Riyadh in October 2027. Each of those stays is well under 90 days, and each entry falls within the year, so one eVisa covers all three trips.

Two things to keep in mind:

  • The year runs from issue. If you apply early for a trip, the eVisa's year starts when it is issued, not when you arrive. For a trip in ten months, apply now; for a trip in fourteen months, wait.
  • Plan to enter and leave within the validity period, so that nothing depends on a rule at the border.

The arrival date you give on our form is part of your application; if your plans change, write to us. The eVisa's validity runs from the date it is issued, not from the arrival date you entered.

The eVisa and your passport

The eVisa is linked to the passport you applied with. Travel on that passport. Dual nationals apply with the passport they will show at the Saudi border and travel on the same one. If you have to replace your passport before you travel, write to us before doing anything else.

Keep a copy of the eVisa on your phone or print it. Airlines may ask to see it at check-in.

Medical insurance

Medical insurance valid in Saudi Arabia for the length of your stay comes with the tourist eVisa. There is no separate policy to buy for the visa.

Staying within the rules

Each stay is limited to 90 days. Leave before your 90 days are up; overstaying can lead to penalties and can affect future visits. The eVisa lets you travel to Saudi Arabia and ask to enter; as with any visa, the final word at the border belongs to the Saudi authorities.

Is the tourist eVisa single or multiple entry?

Multiple entry. You can come and go during the year it is valid.

Does the year start when I arrive?

No. It starts on the date the eVisa is issued.

Can I stay for six months?

No. Each stay is limited to 90 days.

Can the tourist eVisa be used for Umrah?

Can the eVisa be used for Hajj?

Does the eVisa guarantee entry?

What if I get a new passport after the eVisa is issued?

Write to us before you travel. The eVisa is linked to the passport you applied with.
